Back in 2012, Canva, in Sydney’s Surry Hills, set out with the crazy big goal of empowering the whole world to design. Canva believes that design is something that should be accessible to everyone, not just a privileged few. It shouldn’t matter where you live, your socioeconomic status, or even your computer experience — design should be accessible to everyone.

Launched in 2013, Canva is an online design and publishing tool with a mission to empower everyone in the world to design anything and publish anywhere.

As one of the world’s fastest growing technology companies, Canva’s community has grown to over 65 million monthly active users across 190 countries, who collectively create over 120 designs every second. Individuals, teams and industries of every size are enthusiastically embracing tools built for the visual economy. Canva’s rapid expansion comes from its relentless product innovation which is disrupting several industries at once, from design to collaboration, stock imagery, publishing, video and more.

In September 2021, Canva announced a USD $40 billion valuation solidifying it as one of the most valuable private companies in the world.

It’s a testament to the overwhelming demand for visual communication and Canva’s mission to make design online, collaborative, and universally accessible.

Canva’s global team has grown to more than 2,000 — with 1,000 people hired in the last year alone. Each year, it receives over 180,000 applications to join the team and be part of its mission to empower the world to design.
